As agreed at the 2008 AGM, the HTF is seeking to appoint a Chair with effect from 1 November 2009.
The post offers the opportunity to help to lead an organisation which is at the heart of the heritage sector, influencing policy and working with passionate people in all sectors and all disciplines. The Chair will work with the Executive Committee, the Director and the team of administrators to plan and deliver policies and operations. S/he will liaise with Government departments, other policy making bodies, partners, sponsors, local government officers and members and other organisations working in the sector to deliver the Forum's aims and objectives.
Remuneration for the post will be open to discussion but will, at the very least, provide for expenses, with the potential for an honorarium. The commitment is expected to be for between 100-150 days per year, but will be determined by the skills and aptitudes of the appointee.
Expressions of interest are invited from those with a professional background in Environment or Heritage related disciplines. Experience at a senior level in Local Government would be an advantage, as would experience in securing sponsorship and/or fund raising.
